The oncology group was recognised for pushing the boundaries in consistently delivering high quality care to cancer patients in the Asia Pacific region.
On 4th May 2018, Icon emerged as one of the winners of the “Oncology Service Provider of the Year” at the third Global Health and Travel (GHT) Awards ceremony, held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The top three winners for the category were determined by public votes, with Icon recognised alongside two other highly reputed providers in the region.
The award recognizes companies in healthcare and medical tourism across Asia Pacific that have maintained consistently high customer standards, and demonstrated outstanding performance in developing initiatives that can improve the way care is delivered.
The accolade comes eighteen months since the formation of Icon via the acquisition of Singapore Oncology Consultants [SOC], and on the back of a recent collaboration in Vietnam which saw Icon Group signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with two of Vietnam’s leading healthcare providers. This recognition is also a testament to the perfect collaboration between deep Singaporean expertise in oncology and Australia’s integrated, holistic approach to cancer care.
Receiving the award on behalf of Icon CEO, Teena Pisarev said, “When entering new countries the challenges are many, from language barriers to cultural expectations, all while trying to establish new and robust relationships. However, there is always one objective that remains unchanged – our commitment to delivering the best cancer care possible. To have our patients recognise us as one of Asia Pacific’s premium oncology providers is an absolute honour.”
