Understanding breast cancer in young women

Icon Writers

18% of women diagnosed with breast cancer in Singapore are below 44 years of age. For many of these women a breast cancer diagnosis also comes with psychosocial challenges such as navigating a career, personal life changes, financial stability, and body and self image, all while going through cancer treatment.

In the below video, Icon Medical Oncologist Dr Lee Guek Eng discusses the nature of breast cancer in young women and the common difficulties women face during diagnosis and treatment.
